Celebrating Teachers: World Teachers Day 2019

Happy World Teachers Day!

As a Proud Science and Mathematics Instructor, I join the rest of the world today to celebrate every teacher, alive and dead, who through dedication, persistence, drive, patience, ingenuity, creativity and mastery of their respective subjects have been able to facilitate learning for their students and this in turn is inarguably the basis of all the major strides we can lay claim to in any sphere of human endeavor.

Indeed our worth is far above rubies and beyond any form of financial quantization of our efforts, which is always below par with respect to the potentials that we have been able to unlock in our students, our greatest joy today and forever is for someone to look back and remain thankful for having been able to see life (in it's various forms) standing on our shoulders. It is indeed most comforting, fulfilling and deeply satisfying.

Irrespective of your shape, size or color, celebrate yourself today because no matter the angle you look at it from, our profession is the Mother of all professions.

As for my dear country Nigeria, I see a bright future even though the present looks blurry; I see a strong academic future even though we look like weaklings at the moment; I see a future of tremendous academic exploits even though all we could see now are locked potentials; I see a future of respect and command in various fields of human endeavor for us as a nation even though that in its best, seemed outrageous at the moment.

Therefore, I call on every dedicated educator all over the four corners of this nation to take up this challenge and do everything we can do to leave the educational sector of this country better than we met it.

We should always work with this reality in mind that the future we are looking forward to see has already begun!
